About

The geography of food is a major theme of this blog, bringing together my many interests in cooking, nature, conservation, travel, history and genealogy. The geography of food is my excuse to offer up my ramblings, with an emphasis on experiencing the places where humans enjoy nature, where humans feast on Earth’s bounty, where the birds and beasts do the same, and asking how we can continue to share this bounty instead of decimating it. The answers are not simple, but I believe we are more likely to save and preserve what we deeply love, and that it is essential to understand the consequences of our actions, however good our intentions. This is a travel blog for lovers of nature and history who travel on a moderate budget, not in cheap discomfort nor luxurious excess.
